Tasting Notes

REGION:
South Australia, 2010
VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING
:
2010 was an early and low yield harvest due to ongoing drought in much of Australia’s grape growing regions. Careful scheduling to bring the grapes into the winery on cooler nights and great care with irrigation practices helped bring in a great harvest.
At all stages the winemakers endeavored to preserve the fruit expression of the grapes which make this wine. The wine was clarifi ed shortly after fermentation and kept in cool, temperature controlled tanks to preserve the vibrant fruit flavours so apparent on the nose and palate.
WINEMAKERS’ NOTES
:
Attractive pale-medium straw in colour this wine has aromas of stone fruit, nectarine and peaches. The palate has superb weight with peach and melon
flavours dominating and a touch of citrus on the soft smooth finish. This is a great food wine, to be enjoyed chilled (8-10 C), whilst young and fresh. Serve with fresh seafood such as oysters, sushi, risotto and pasta.
TECHNICAL
:
Varieties: Chardonnay
Alcohol: 13.5%
Total Acidity: 6.1gms/l
Residual Sugar: 2 gms/l
