REGION:
South Australia, 2011
VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING:
The grapes for this wine were sourced from Angove Family Winemakers as well as premium growers in South Australia. Soils are predominantly red sandy loam over limestone, on gently undulating east west ridges.
The 2011 Vintage was cool and the early season drought breaking rains in spring lead to minimal requirement for irrigation with exceptional crops being set and substantial leaf cover which would be required to ripen the fruit to perfection. This cooler year has been great for aromatic varietal expression, especially with the fruit dominant varieties such as Moscato.
The harvest period was longer than usual resulting in a relatively late harvest starting in March. Harvested during the cool light of dawn to ensure no loss of flavour intensity the fruit was then transported to the winery and pressed using modern membrane tank presses. After settling the cold clear juice was carefully racked and inoculated with selected yeasts. Slow, controlled fermentation was followed by minimal handling, filtration and bottling at the Angove Estate.
WINEMAKERS’ NOTES:
Crisp and fresh bursting with grapey flavours this is a light delightfully sweet slightly fizzy wine made to drink soon after bottling.
Perfect as an aperitif, or to accompany dessert, this is a wine that speaks of its South Australian origins, perfect with a picnic next to the river or a lazy afternoon on the beach.

The Key Review of Wine - Tony Keys - 20.11.10 - 90 Points
Fresh lively zips around the mouth leaving a very pleasant tingle on departure, it does the job it was made for decently 90 points and exceptionally good value."

2010 South Australia
VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING:
The grapes for this wine were sourced from Angove Family Winemakers as well as premium growers in South Australia. Soils are predominantly red sandy loam over limestone, on gently undulating east west ridges.
2010 was one of the best vintages of the past decade. Some early rain and good inflows into the Murray Basin allowed vines to be watered as required during the growing season. A heat spike in November lead to some irregular flowering and set and hence lower yield. The remainder of the growing period was perfect with abundant sun for ripening and cool nights to retain freshness and flavour.
Harvested during the cool light of dawn to ensure no loss of flavour intensity the fruit was then transported to the winery and pressed using modern membrane tank presses. After settling the cold clear juice was carefully racked and inoculated with selected yeasts. Slow, controlled fermentation was followed by minimal handling filtration and bottling at the Angove Estate.
WINEMAKERS' NOTES:
Crisp and fresh, this wine is bursting with citrus blossom aromas and intense 'grapey' flavours. A slightly fizzy wine which is light, refreshing and delightfully sweet, Nine Vines Moscato is best consumed whilst young and fresh.
Perfect as an aperitif, or to accompany dessert, this is a wine that speaks of its South Australian origins, perfect with a picnic next to the river or a lazy afternoon on the beach.
